Our New Home

It's official!!! We are homeowners and we couldn't be happier! No more apartment living. No more wall to wall neighbors. No more fighting to find the closet parking space. No more walking through VERY overly watered grass to get to the vehicle, no more muddy pant legs because of the walk across the overly watered grass. And last but not least, No more buggies because of dirty neighbors!

We decided to look for a home when we got our renew lease for the small, cramped 1 bedroom apartment. When we found out our rent was going to be close to $900 for no space, and it would cost close to $1100 a month for a 2 bedroom, we set out to look for a home. It didn't take long for us to find a home, maybe a month. We were actually getting ready to put an offer on a home around the corner from our house, but the more we looked at it, the more we found problems. So, we looked at our home and fell in love with it. The house we bought was a very beautiful foreclosure. When we found out it was a foreclosure, we couldn't believe how nice it was. The price wasn't too bad either. After many back and forths with getting things fixed, we were able to close June 30. Besides many things we love about the house, the thing I love the most is, it's only $130 more a month then was we were going to be paying for our small 1 bedroom!! After the repairs were made, it was pretty much move in ready, but we wanted to get rid of the "apartment feel" wall color, so we painted all the rooms. With much help from my parents and Josh we were able to get it all done the week before we moved in.

Now for the pictures!

Before pictures are on the left. After pictures are on the right.

Front of the house ~

Living Room ~

Dining Room ~ (previous owners used as a dining room, we are using it as my computer space because it is connected to the living room)

Family Room ~ (previous owners used as a family room, we turned it into our dining room because it is connected to the very large kitchen -- notice in the before picture, no lighting. In the after, a very pretty chandiler. Josh and a friend/handyman put it in for me)

Kitchen ~ (the kitchen is pretty much the same, except we bought all new appliances)

Master Bedroom ~

Master Bathroom ~ (No after picture of the bathroom. All that changed is the color of the wall. We painted it a light purple like the bedroom)

Guest Bathroom ~ (which we haven't done anything in it yet, still deciding what to do. It will be done by November when we have our first out of town guests come. Josh's parents will be coming for a visit)

Laundry Room ~ (again, haven't done anything in there. It's a laundry room, what can you do in that?)

Secondary Bedroom ~ (this will become the baby room -- No, this isn't an announcement! Just planning ahead. Right now, it's Josh's "staging area" as he puts it. The new fans we are putting up are currently living in that room)

Another Secondary Bedroom ~ (will become Josh's office AKA homework room)

I found the desk and the rug at a yard sale for $5 a piece. What a bargain!

The backyard ~ Which will house my dog when we get one. We are in the process of adopting a yellow lab from a lab rescue in Houston. We hope to have her very shortly!

We feel that Heavenly Father really put this house into our lives. It's perfect for us. We are really grateful for all the help we received from Heavenly Father, he really did provide for us. We thank Him every night for His help.
